Hello!, My Name is Peter Banister and I am currently freshman attending Drake University for Multimedia Journalism along with a BA in Voice. I am originally from Stillwater, Minnesota, Located east of the Twin Cities near the Wisconsin border.
I have a passion for story-telling through media, weather that be traditional writing, video production, or via social media. My passion for media production had started when I was a Junior in high school after taking a newspaper class. After spending time editing news videos and serving as an Editor-In-Chief, I had decided that I want a career in media work.
When I am not in school, I work for a local printing center, creating books, posters, and banners. I have knowledge on how to operate large format printers and laminators, and basic knowledge on how to service them.
I have gained proficiency in a majority of Adobe products, throughout editing photos for my at home job, along with what I have learned throughout school and being an Editor in Chief for my high school newspaper.
While not wanting a career in music, I have been involved choirs, theatre productions, and voice work since a young age. I’m enrolled in a secondary major involving music. My primary reason for taking music is to challenge myself and to live out the rest of the remaining “theatre kid” in myself. I have been taking private voice lessons since age 17, continuing my vocal journey at Drake. I am currently in opera theatre with a production of The Magic Flute, which opens on Feb 21, 2025.
